Point of sale (POS)

Counter sales for walk-in customers. Open POS in the sidebar. Every till sale is a normal order: same catalog (with category discounts), same stock, and it shows up under Orders, Customers and stats — tagged as a POS sale with the payment method.

The short version: sell in person with the same products, prices and stock your WhatsApp store already uses. No second inventory.

Public page: /free-point-of-sale, translated in every language. Written for people searching “free POS”, “point of sale for small business” or “cash register app”: who it is for (shops that sell in person and online), what the till does, and how it helps. Stay honest with this section — not a fiscal cash register, not restaurant table service, and WAStore does not charge the card.

When to use it

  • You sell online via WhatsApp and to people who visit your shop, bakery or stall.
  • You want one place for stock, orders and sales numbers — not a separate cash register app.
  • You take cash, a local transfer QR (Yape, Nequi, Pix…), or card on your own terminal.

Not for full restaurant table service yet (open tabs come later). Needs an internet connection.

How it works

  1. Open a shift — start with the cash already in the drawer. Close later and see if the count matches.
  2. Add products and charge — search or tap products, pick variants, then charge. Barcode scanners type into search like a keyboard.
  3. Record how they paid — Cash calculates change; Transfer shows your QR from Settings → Payments; Card is recorded as paid on your card terminal (WAStore does not charge the card). All three create a Paid + Completed order.
  4. Stock and Orders stay in sync — every till sale appears under Orders with a POS badge. Category discounts apply at the till too.

On the till

  • Fullscreen — tablet-friendly layout without the sidebar (/dashboard/pos?fs=1). Exit returns to the normal dashboard.
  • Cash drawer shift — open with an opening float; close by counting the drawer. Expected cash = float + cash POS sales in that shift. One register per store in this version.
  • Receipt — printable sale confirmation from the browser (aimed at 58/80 mm). Marked as a sale confirmation, not a fiscal / tax invoice.
  • Past POS orders — filter Orders by source POS (/dashboard/orders?source=pos).
  • No new-order email — POS sales still update stock and order counts, but they do not send the owner “new order” notification (or the first-order celebration). Low-stock alerts can still fire if enabled.
  • Every plan — Free and Pro can use the till. Teammates with the orders (or admin) role can use POS; catalog-only teammates cannot.

Not in this version: open tabs / tables, multiple registers, cash in/out, offline mode, Stripe Terminal, or a dedicated cashier role.
