WAStore gives you three ways to get paid. They work very differently — read this before you pick one, especially the part about which orders get marked as paid automatically and which don't.
The most important thing to know
Only Stripe marks an order as paid automatically. Stripe confirms payment through a secure server-to-server webhook the instant the charge succeeds — WAStore knows for certain the money arrived, so the order is marked paid the moment it's created.
PayPal does not. The PayPal payment happens entirely inside the customer's browser — there's no confirmation sent back to WAStore's servers, so WAStore has no reliable way to know whether the payment actually went through. A PayPal order is created and saved like any other, but it's never automatically marked as paid — you check your own PayPal account and mark it paid yourself from Orders once you see the money.
Manual methods never auto-confirm either — same as PayPal, you mark these paid yourself once you've received the bank transfer, cash, etc.

All three can be on at once — none of them replace each other. A customer who doesn't want to pay by card or PayPal can still see your manual details and pay you directly, the way they always could.
Manual payment methods
Settings → Payment → the details you type in (bank transfer, cash, a Revolut/PayPal link, etc.) are shown to the customer as plain information — nothing is charged automatically. This is the original, always-free way to get paid on WAStore, and it works everywhere, in every currency, with no setup.
Stripe (Pro)
Connecting your own Stripe account is the only method where WAStore can tell you, with certainty, that a specific order has been paid — because Stripe tells WAStore directly, the moment it happens. PayPal (Pro)
PayPal is the simpler of the two real payment buttons to set up — just a Client ID from developer.paypal.com, no account-connection flow — but because it runs entirely in the customer's browser with no callback to WAStore's servers, you're responsible for checking your own PayPal account and marking orders as paid yourself. Treat a new PayPal order the way you'd treat a manual bank-transfer order: it shows up in your dashboard, and you confirm payment once you actually see it land in PayPal.
Practical tip: check your PayPal account soon after a PayPal order comes in, and mark it paid (Orders → open the order → mark as paid) so your own order list stays accurate — WAStore has no way to do this step for you.
