Get paid with what your customers already use
WAStore doesn’t process payments or take a percentage. You add your methods in Settings → Payment, and customers see them when they order.
UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm)
Choose the “UPI” type and enter your UPI ID. Checkout then shows a UPI QR with the exact order total filled in, plus a “Pay in UPI app” button on phones.
Cash on delivery
Turn on “Cash on delivery”: nothing to set up, and the customer pays when the order arrives.
Bank transfer (IMPS / NEFT)
Add “Bank transfer” with your account number, IFSC and account name; customers copy it at checkout and send you the receipt on WhatsApp.
Razorpay or Cashfree link
Paste a Razorpay or Cashfree payment link as a “Payment link” method for customers who want to pay by card.
How it works
- 1
Create your store
Enter a name, your WhatsApp number and your currency (INR). Add products with a photo and price, or import them from a CSV or Google Sheet.
- 2
Add how you get paid
Add UPI and cash on delivery, plus any other method you use. They show at checkout with your details and, if you like, your QR code.
- 3
Share the link
Put it in your WhatsApp status, Instagram bio or TikTok. Every order lands in your dashboard and in your WhatsApp, ready to fulfil.
Selling on WhatsApp in India
In India most small sellers already take orders on WhatsApp and Instagram and get paid on UPI. WAStore keeps that and fixes the messy part: customers browse a catalog with prices in rupees, fill a cart and send you one complete order (name, address, items and total) instead of twenty “price?” messages.
Add your UPI ID once and every checkout shows a UPI QR for the exact amount, so customers don’t mistype the total. You see the payment in your bank app and mark the order paid. Home bakers, boutiques, jewellery and saree sellers, cloud kitchens and resellers all use the same setup.
Shops in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and Hyderabad, and across the country.
Delivery, registration and payments in India
Delivery and couriers
Most small sellers ship through aggregators like Shiprocket, which book Delhivery, Blue Dart, DTDC, Xpressbees and others from one dashboard, or with India Post Speed Post for remote pin codes. A 500 g parcel usually costs roughly ₹40–70 within a city and ₹60–120 across states. Cash on delivery adds a fee of about ₹30–50 or around 2% of the order, and returned parcels (RTO) cost you the shipping both ways, so many sellers confirm COD orders on WhatsApp first. Within a city, Porter, Rapido or your own delivery work well.
Registration and tax
You can start without registering, but GST comes up early: selling goods to customers in another state generally needs GST registration whatever your turnover, while sales within your own state only need it above ₹40 lakh a year (₹20 lakh in some special-category states). Udyam registration is free and online and makes you an MSME. Home food businesses also need FSSAI basic registration. Check your own case with a CA.
How customers pay
UPI is how most orders are paid: Google Pay, PhonePe and Paytm all scan the same QR, and customers expect to pay right after ordering. Cash on delivery is still common for first orders and in smaller towns, often with a small UPI advance. Cards, EMI and net banking come through payment links from gateways like Razorpay or Cashfree.
What it costs
- Free forever: up to 50 products, unlimited orders and 0% commission.
- Pro: $7.90 a month (or $4.99 a month billed yearly) for your own domain, coupons, sale prices, delivery zones, analytics and more.
- Try Pro free for 7 days, no card needed.
WAStore vs other options in India
Most WhatsApp store tools no longer take a commission. What differs is how many products you get for free, whether orders are capped, and whether customers see your local payment methods (UPI and cash on delivery) when they order.
| Platform | Free plan | Orders | Commission | Paid plan |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| WAStore | 50 products, forever | Unlimited | 0% | Pro: $7.90/month (up to 200 products) |
| Take App | Unlimited products | 50 a month saved in the dashboard | 0% | Essential: $29/month |
| Dukaan | Limited free plan | Unlimited | Per-order commission on the free plan | Yearly paid plans |
| Shopify | None (free trial only) | Unlimited | Card fees; extra fee on Starter or with outside gateways | Starter $5/month; Basic $39/month |
| WhatsApp Business catalog | Free, inside the app | In the chat only | 0% | — (no cart or web store) |
Taken from each platform’s website in October 2026 (Shopify prices are US list prices). Plans change often, so check them before you decide.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need GST to sell on WhatsApp in India?
Not to start, if you sell only within your own state and stay under ₹40 lakh a year. Shipping goods to other states generally needs GST registration whatever your turnover. WAStore works the same either way.
Can I ask for an advance on cash-on-delivery orders?
Yes. Add both UPI and Cash on delivery, and write in the instructions that an advance (for example ₹100) is needed before you ship. Customers see it at checkout.
Can I charge a different delivery fee in your city and for the rest of India?
Yes, on Pro: create one delivery zone in your city and another for the rest of India, each with its own fee (or “to be confirmed”). The free plan has one flat delivery fee and free pickup.
Can I use Shiprocket or Delhivery with WAStore?
Yes, alongside it: the order in WAStore has the customer’s name, phone, address and pin code, so you book the pickup in Shiprocket or your courier’s app and send the AWB number to the customer on WhatsApp.
Is WAStore available in Hindi?
Yes. The whole site and dashboard are in Hindi at wastore.app/hi, and your storefront can be shown in Hindi too.
Can customers pay by UPI with the amount already filled in?
Yes. When your store currency is INR and you enter a UPI ID (like shop@okhdfcbank), checkout generates a UPI QR with the exact order total, and a “Pay in UPI app” button on phones. The order number goes in the payment note.
Is WAStore free in India?
Yes. The free plan doesn’t expire: up to 50 products, unlimited orders and no commission on sales. Pro is optional.
Can I get paid by UPI and cash on delivery?
Yes. You add your payment methods in Settings → Payment and customers see them when they order. The money goes straight to you; WAStore never touches payments.
Does WAStore take a commission?
No, not on the free plan and not on Pro. Everything your customer pays is yours.
Do I need WhatsApp Business?
No. It works with regular WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business, and neither you nor your customers install anything.
Can I accept card payments?
Stripe doesn’t open accounts for sellers in India yet, so built-in card checkout isn’t available. You can add a payment link from a local gateway as a “Payment link” method, and customers pay by card there.
