What to put on an invoice
A clear invoice gets you paid faster. At minimum it should show your business name and contact details, the customer's name, a unique invoice number, the issue date, each item with its quantity and price, and the total amount due. Add a due date and how to pay — bank details, a UPI ID or a payment link — so the customer doesn't have to ask.
Number your invoices in sequence (INV-001, INV-002…) so you can find any of them later and your records stay tidy for tax time. If you're registered for VAT or GST, include your tax ID and show the tax separately, as local rules usually require.
