How UPI QR codes work
Every UPI QR code contains a upi://pay link with your UPI ID (also called a VPA). When a customer scans it, their UPI app — Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM or their bank's app — opens the payment screen with your details already filled in.
A static QR without an amount is ideal for a shop counter: customers type what they owe. A QR with an amount is better for online orders, because the customer can't mistype the total and you can match the payment to the order at a glance. Adding a note like an order number makes reconciliation even easier.
Money goes directly from the customer's bank account to yours — this tool never touches the payment and stores nothing. Note that some UPI apps limit payments to personal UPI IDs from QR codes; if customers see a warning, use a merchant or business UPI ID from your bank or payment app.

No. The QR code is generated in your browser from your UPI ID and works for as long as that UPI ID is active.
